The arrival rate report looks exactly the same as the throughput report but does the opposite by tracking new work added to a Kanban board, so that you can also understand how much work you receive within a specific time period.
Based on the chart above showing 6 months, this team has received an average of 9 cards per month. The expectation for next month should be around 9 cards. Please note that the data never showed a month receiving exactly 9 cards. This is why you must use an average and set expectations “around” 9 cards and not state exactly 9.
